As children, we eagerly read and consumed good literature. Our upbringing was such that we had much freedom, yet within established boundaries. The books available were the timeless classics that many love and wholesome books from bygone eras that challenged the intellect and the soul. Although we were often left to ourselves growing up, we are thankful that it was not in such a world as our modern one, where children are left to their own devices and in spaces, online and offline, often poisonous to the cultivation of the mind and soul. We had good books for companionship, and we read not only for educational reasons or at our leisure but also for our character development, unbeknownst to us. Reading good books provided many opportunities for critical thinking and character adjustment. We learned not only what to think but also how to think, and, better yet, gained wisdom through discernment as we interacted with the world around us.

WiseHeart Press wants to present that era to readers of all ages again, through good books and materials. We understand that reading is not merely an activity for gaining information and knowledge. It is a way to cultivate and transform the mind and soul.

Our world has changed a lot, but there are certain things that must never go out of style — and that is good character. We are dedicated to revitalizing pure and authentic expression and desire to encourage meaningful connections with civility and hearts for mindful living. We are tender-hearted on this end, and sympathize with those who feel out of place in this fast-paced, sensory-overloaded, and highly stimulating world. We want to provide our readers with tools and the space of a literary haven to be and to become -- where they are unrushed, still, motivated by purpose, and marked by steady maturity; where they can discover and pursue a love for reading and learning for the very sake of it.

Access to edifying words and to what is true helps nourish the human psyche in a unique way. Thus, good literature is fundamental and must be made accessible to all, especially for the sake of the development of this current generation.
